Home for the Holidays, Winter in Seattle

Our team's recommendations
for how to spend the holidays in the city.

Seattle Symphony
The holidays seem like the best time to dress up and head to the theatre. The Seattle Symphony has a robust calendar year-round, but brings out favorites like “Holiday Pops,” which features classic songs and University of Washington Chorale, during the winter season. Any visit to the symphony feels like an occasion.

Seattle Center Winterfest
Festive music, ice skating, the mini winter train and village, and ice sculpting all under the umbrella of sparkly lights and the Space Needle, we love Winterfest as a free, family-friendly holiday option. Sneak preview here.

Food + Fire Pits
In the winter, a few of our favorite restaurants offer cozy outdoor experiences. You can get your fresh air fix (and a great meal!) at Westward on Lake Union, Revel in Seattle, The Hollywood Tavern in Woodinville, or Shelter Lounge in Ballard. (Shelter Lounge serves free s’mores too!) Keep the fire pit lit for us, guys!

Sheraton Seattle’s Gingerbread Village
Each year the Sheraton Hotel culinary team partners with top local architecture firms and builders to design, bake and delight guests with a themed exhibit. The event is free to the public, with donations benefitting the JDRF Northwest Chapter. (Another great hotel option: The Teddy Bear Room at the Olympic Hotel). More information.
